Just the concept of a perfect first date can throw us into a panic mode, as we put so much stress on ourselves. The fear of being rejected is powerful in many of us, and if things do not go okay on that first meeting, then we look on it as a failure, our failure. We need to be able to accept that we will never get on flawlessly with totally everyone in the world, this is normal, so accept it, and move on without feeling like a failure.
We tend to look at our first dates as a means to demonstrate to the community how great we are, and this often comes across desperately. So take a few deep breathes, quit or at least minimize, the worry about dating, and alternatively try to enjoy getting to know the other individual.
Choosing that first date can be a little demanding, but it shouldn't be. And since you haven't spent time with each other previously, it is as well to schedule something shorter as opposed to longer. This can spare you both the torment of trying to cut the date short if things are not going well between you. It is great if you can plan something which will allow for the two of you some time to communicate - going to the movie theater doesn't give you that chance until following the movie, that is after a few hours. So schedule something which presents you the occasion to chat and discuss matters. It could be a wander through a community park, stopping for an ice cream or a hot coffee, based on the heat of the day! A snack or a coffee can do the job well, but bear in mind that you do not have to go all out and spend a month's income on this first get together, no matter how much you want to stand out. There is lots of time for top quality meals when you know for sure that your relationship is going somewhere.
Pick a hassle-free pastime, like a stroll around the downtown core, as long as the weather conditions are likely to be fine for this. Be certain you have an alternative in mind just in case the day becomes really bad - arriving with dripping wild hair, tends not to make a great first impression! Stay serene and unstressed as much as you possibly can, remembering that there are countless more folks out there that you could have a first date with. This is not a life threatening event!
